New Administrators Program 2026: Empowering Adventist School Leaders

In early March 2026, the annual ASA New Administrators Program convened at the Foothills Conference Centre in Mooroolbark (Melbourne). The two-day event (March 4–5) gathered 34 newly appointed school leaders – including Education Directors, Principals, Deputy Principals, Heads of School and Early Learning Centre managers for orientation and development. Sessions provided inspiration, practical tools and vital connections to guide these leaders in their new roles. Grounded in Adventist values, the program also encouraged participants to remain strong and courageous in their calling, recalling the promise of Joshua 1:9.

The 2026 program maintained its focus on three core messages: Valued, Oriented, Connected (lifting each leader up, orienting to Adventist Education, and building community).

On Day 1, Leanne Entermann and Daniel Taylor led participants through reflective exercises on leadership legacy, priorities and personal strengths. The day began with group devotions and introductions, then moved into interactive workshops on faith-based leadership.

Day 2 opened with “The Heart of Adventist Education” (led by Jacques Calais) and a continuation of the Strengths Workshop (Daniel Taylor). These sessions grounded leaders in Adventist values and strategies for strengthening school culture. Jacques Calais covered system requirements and school improvement goals. An open Q&A forum then allowed participants to ask candid questions about policy and practice, helping attendees plan clear next steps for their schools.

The program concluded with a Leadership Dedication ceremony. Jack Ryan and Jacques Calais led a commissioning prayer for the New Administrators, exhorting them to serve with faith and courage. Referencing Joshua 1:9, they reminded participants that God’s promise of presence and strength goes with them. This faith-filled conclusion sent leaders back to their communities feeling equipped and mission-aligned.
